The Amish live in seclusion. They shun the luxuries of modern day society and in favour for a simple lifestyle, garments without ornamentation and a life dedicated to the word of god. However, before young adults choose to be bapitised and commit themselves to the church, they embark on a rite of passage that allows them to live in the "English world" and observe modern day society for the first time.
"Rumspringa" is a collection based around a narrative that seeks to merge the sensibility of Amish garments with the skater subculture. A young man comes into the city and finds a place in a new sort of community- a group of skateboarders. This collection seeks to explore the process of assimilation
